About us

Healthy Young Minds in Herts is part of the transformation of mental health services for children and young people in Hertfordshire.

Young people have worked with NHS and local council partners to help design this website as a good place to go for information about emotional wellbeing support in Hertfordshire.

There are dedicated sections for children and young people; parents and carers; school and other professionals which signpost to useful local and national information.

In 2015, the Government published Future in Mind, which outlined the need for fundamental change in mental health services for children and young people. Hertfordshire reviewed all child and adolescent mental health services (CAMHS) and developed its CAMHS Transformation programme, led by the county’s two NHS clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) and the county council.

You can read Hertfordshire’s Transformation Plan for Children and Young People’s Mental Health and Wellbeing 2015-17 here.
